The StrTiger project was completed successfully in October 2002. Since then developments of the technology have been carried out by ThruVision Ltd, a spin-out company of the CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. This web site is kept as a record of the activities carried out by the project and is not updated. Any enquiries may be addressed to Jeremy Curtis at RAL or to ThruVision.

StrTiger is a pioneering European Space Agency (ESA) initiative in partnership with the Space Science and Technology Department at CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

StrTiger's main aim is to reduce dramatically the development time for a critical space technology programme.

1. StrTiger has obtained their first passive image of a hand at terahertz frequency.

2 . The first StrTiger silicon machined front end terahertz array.

3. Plasma deposition of metals on StrTiger micromachined waveguide mixers.

The StrTiger concept is to bring together a small team of highly motivated researchers to make a breakthrough in a strategically important technology area in just 4 months.
